Easter Garden Service
In the Easter school holidays children with carers come to create an Easter Garden to take home which includes scenes from the Easter Story: Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Day.
Candlelit prayers for healing
In the Wednesday in the week running up to Easter we meet for Candlelit Prayers for Healing, with meditation and Taize music, for all who are suffering in our community.
Maundy Thursday Communion
On the night that Jesus was betrayed (Maundy Thursday) Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it and shared it with his followers.
Good Friday Walk of Witness
A child friendly Walk of Witness starting at St Andrew’s church at 11am on Good Friday, stopping 5 times to hear readings, sing hymns and pray. We walk to the post office and then return to just outside the library for coffee.
Readings and Hymns for Good Friday
On Good Friday we meet to hear the Good Friday and Easter story and sing hymns.
Our morning service on Easter day is a special celebration of the resurrection. Quite often it includes a baptism in which the person being baptised goes under the water (symbolising their willingness to walk the way of the cross), and is brought back up (as an expression of trust in the God who raised Jesus from the dead).
