Psalm 1

Blessed are those who do not follow advice which is based on wanting to do others down
Blessed are those who don’t stop attempting to do what is right.
Blessed are those who don’t ridicule what is loving and good.
Blessed are those who delight in who God is, as shown in the bible.
Blessed are those who day and night think about
* the one who brings peace to families (like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob)
* the one who brings peace to those who are abused (like Hebrew slaves in Egypt)
* the one who brings peace to those who are looking for a better life (giving them his commandments)
Those who do this are like trees planted by streams of water

They live fruitful lives - producing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control - each in its own season.
Their leaves do not wither.
They prosper in godly living.

This is in stark contrast to those who seek other things in life.
They are like bits of rubbish which the wind blows away
People who do not seek after God and who not seek the welfare of others are just on a different planet

The Lord God watches over the lives of those who seek him
But the lives (if you can call it that) of those who look elsewhere for direction and meaning will end in oblivion.
