Psalm 13
Book
Psalms
Chapter
13
Start Verse
1
AAARRRGGGH!
1 How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me? (your attention seems to be elsewhere)
2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts (I have to deal with stuff on my own)
and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me? (My enemies are fear, busyness, loneliness, despair, unforgiveness, ….)
ASK
3 Look on me and answer, Lord my God. (give me your attention! communicate with me!)
Give light to my eyes, (give me back the “spark” I get when I sense your presence))
or I will sleep in death, (I just don’t feel alive - I’m sleepwalking through life)
4 and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,”
and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
AFFIRM
5 But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
6 I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me.
