Chapter

Start Verse

1-3Why do those with power seek to use it against people rather than for people?
4-7From the perspective of our Father in Heaven, the one with real power, it is laughable that people should think that this is what power is for.
Laughable, this is, if it wasn’t so serious.
God rebukes them in his anger, and points them to how power is really exercised, by His Son on a hill top on a cross
8-9The offer comes out from God: Ask me that my kingdom would come and it will come and you will see all other kingdoms fail.
10 Therefore, you people of power be wise and also be warned.
11 Be wise: serve the Lord with fear,
celebrate his rule with trembling,
12 imagine that the Son of God is standing before you holding out his hand- go and kiss his hand in loving obedience.
Remember that if we give our allegiance to another power or another way of using power, that this will lead to our destruction
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
