⁷ Now Moses used to take a tent and pitch it outside the camp some distance away, calling it the ‘tent of meeting’. In the beginning

In the beginning there was God, and no explanation is given, but rather just a state of affairs that we are invited to experience.

And God created - that is he brought into being something which had not existed.

God created everything, both what is unseen (the heavens) and what is seen (the earth).
