17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Heavenly Father help me to hold on to, and not reject, the faith that you are indeed eternal and the only God, and let it be reflected in the way in which I live today, so that at the end of today day my conscience may be clear (and that I may not have contributed to my life being a shipwreck).
Protect me and others, Heavenly Father, from the sin of blaspheme, from believing that something is from you, when it is quite the opposite. And when I and others reap the dreadful consequences of doing this, give us grace to learn from this time of trial.
18 Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well,19 holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith. 20 Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.
