Psalm 6
Book
Psalms
Chapter
6
Start Verse
1
1 Lord God - things aren’t going well in my life
and I wonder whether it is, in part, because I have, by my own actions, brought this upon myself
and am feeling your just anger and wrath.
2 OK! But I wish to repent, put this in the past and find healing
because I’ve run out of energy and am in pain.
3 I feel out of sorts deep inside myself and I can’t see when this is going to end.
4 I look to you Lord to sort this out, because you’re not just known for your justice,
but also for your unfailing love.
5 And I might humbly remind you, Lord, that if this ends in death,
then I won’t be able to tell others about this unfailing love
6/7 I’m worn out from that sinking feeling I get when things go wrong, not to mention the tears.
8/9 However, strangely I know that you Lord have heard my crying
so I turn away from all that has been messing me up
and find energy for today because I have a fresh start from the Lord
10 It is good to know that I have put behind me shameful ways
